Defining Thoughts....
I like to think that I have a "focus" when it comes to food and entertaining. I'm of the notion that everyone's house is their CASTLE and as such, it needs to be as welcoming, warm and YOU-centered as possible.
My late mother always told me that if you love people - feed them. I believe that. I'm not talking about excessive, at-the-trough kind of action, but genuine gatherings of family, friends and strangers. all converging into a kitchen or at the table...sharing laughs, sharing a good meal, sharing life.
One of the goals I have for The DIVA's Kitchen is to encourage people to nurture and develop their inner "foodie". A great recipe, worked perfectly, can really do wonders on a cold night, on a hot summer day, during the holidays.....allowing so many different flavors and textures to come together - and for your taste buds to enjoy! A lot of people tell me that cooking is "difficult" for them...I say it's all about skill and perspective. When you know better - you'll do better.
Enter...me! As a wedding & event planner, pulling together things is all about PROCESS. And that's my philosophy. Once you have a "plan" together, once you know the elements necessary, once you understand the simple 1-2-3 of it all, cooking and being a great host/hostess will be a breeze. I'll be your teacher...your "planner" of a different kind, holding your hand and guiding you towards a better culinary life, a more vibrant entertaining experience.
Over the next few months, I'll be coming into YOUR homes, actually working with REAL people to help them unearth their "food personality". These exploits will be available on my new YouTube channel for everyone to see..and to learn from. I can talk for days and nights, but unless I can actually SHOW you how it all works...you're not going to get it.
That's my viewpoint. So, tell me - what's yours? How do you view food, entertaining? Is it hard? Is it easy? What do you need help with...what would YOU like to see here on the blog?? I'm waiting to hear what you have to say!!!
